Steve began his pigeon career as a young boy, first just pigeons and later as a racing pigeon fancier. In 1974 he took part in his first race and it was seven years later in 1981 that he earned his first victory. Steve formed a partnership with his son in 1993 when Paul was 13 years old. They have gone on to win dozens and dozens of competitions and re wrote some of the rules of the sport. It was my great pleasure to meet Steve and begin the photographic series ‘When Im here’ at his home in Reading.

Liam Hamilton owns and runs the Muay Thai boxing club ‘Fire Gym’ in Reading. He is, a veteran of the sport having started the journey back in 1984 under the tutelage of the now legendary Master Toddy & Master Sken. These images were taken at a Thai festival in Reading, where some of Liam’s fighters took to the ring in short 2 round exhibition bouts, demonstrating “The art of the eight limbs.”

"I have been doing drag for around 5 years on and off. Mostly as a hobby. I eventually realised no one was about to pay me to get into drag so I decided to create my own night (Pussy’s Bow). It's strange as I used to be very anti drag and was very unwoke when I was younger but now I've full embraced it and find it a very liberating and powerful experience. I also have a long history with mental health issues, specifically with self harm. I only mention this as it might be interesting to you from a visual/storytelling point of view. It's certainly something I have no problem being discussed or photographed etc."

Pussy's Bow started in December 2018 with two objectives: help support After Dark as an independent nightclub and provide more diversity for the LGBTQA+ community in Reading.
