The task of street photography is to find statements hidden within the everyday. Yet, as you pursue this goal, you begin to see the marvel in ordinary life — where no moment or place can be dismissed. Your mind and senses start to harmonize, revealing where moments might unfold, where the light may favour you, and how each scene might change.

When I walk, I am free. There is nothing but the search for a statement — one I may or may not find.

My motivation is the simple thrill of finding moments — nothing more, really. There’s no underlying meaning or deep aesthetic intent. I don’t interact with or manipulate situations; when a picture presents itself, everything is already there in that moment. I work only in digital now, though I steadied my legs during my early flurry with film.

I am a software developer by profession, living in Reading, England. Sometimes, when time is my own, I go in search of moments — and if I am
lucky, I come away with a keepsake. It all began as a very natural thing to do.
